Santa Rosa is a city in the Argentine Pampas, and the capital of Province of La Pampa Province. It lies on the east of the Province, on the shore of the Don Tomás Lagoon, at the intersection of National Routes 5 and 35. The city (94,340) and its surroundings hold 102,610 inhabitants, around a third of the population of the Province. There are a few hotels in Santa Rosa and other types of accommodations.
The Pampa is one of the newest Provinces of Argentina. However, the “Pampean” entity goes back long ago in history because it is considered as one of the first populations which existed nine thousand years ago. This legendary region possesses fertile prairies dedicated to the agriculture and cattle production. It also contains enormous extensions of natural forests inhabited by old species and surrounded by beautiful valleys with lagoons and marshlands.
There are 3 main tourist attraction: two are located within the city, the Recreational Park Don Tomás and the Casino Club. The third one is not located in the city but because of its proximity it permits us to count it as the third tourist attraction, is the Luro Park. Tourists have a few hotels in Santa Rosa to choose from.
